Development of the filter synthesis software FILPRO were started about 30 years ago in DOS, Pascal. It had accumulated a vast amount of knowledge on filter synthesis and circuit transformations. It is still in DOS, hence not operating in new windows versions. Therefore it is no more available commercially. However it is still a very useful tool (on Win-98) which can cope with difficult and complex filter design problems. Some design examples will be presented in this talk and some as separate papers in this session.
Special Session on Microwave Imaging and Its Applications
İbrahim Akduman, Professor, İstanbul Technical University, Turkey
Lorenzo Crocco, IREA-CNR, Italy
One of the most promising emerging imaging modalities is Microwave Imaging (MI), which is low-power, low-cost, non-ionising, and also microwaves have a dual diagnosis and therapeutic capability. Microwave Imaging approaches include Ultra WideBand Radar, Microwave Tomography and Time-Reversal methods, and have already been extensively studied during the last three decades. This technology has very important potential applications such as breast cancer detection and imaging, brain stroke monitoring, brain stroke detection, undergroud imaging etc. In this special the current status of microwave imaging will be extensively disscussed.
